The 29th NKF Rich Salick Pro-Am Surfing Festival is August 29th through September 1st at the Cocoa Beach Pier. This festival is the largest charitable surfing festival in the world and has been attended by thousands including world class surfers for the past 28 years.
Started by two professional surfers, the National Kidney Foundation of Florida supports programs in patient services, public and professional education, and organ donation. The weekend-long event hosts amateur and professional surfing contests, bikini contests, booths, and a silent auction.

The Riverfront Shops of Downtown Daytona Beach present an all-ages, open to the public, live music, Island Festival in Riverfront Park from ISB (International Speedway Boulevard) to Magnolia Street on July 26th from 4pm-10pm.

Stand up to the biggest villain of time, Cancer. To kick off Childhood Cancer Awareness month in September, BASE Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation is hosting the Be A Hero 5k at UCF Memory Mall and going GOLD for the children in the battle on August 30th.
All proceeds for the race will benefit BASE Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation. Childhood Cancer effects an estimated 13,400 children each year. Even when the Cancer is overcome the latent effects of treatment effect survivors for a lifetime.

Florida Hospital and the Track Shack Foundation present the 22nd Annual Celebration of Running 5k at Orlando Science Center in Loch Haven Park on August 16th.
The Celebration of Running 5k is part of a month-long celebration (and sale) at Track Shack. This event kicks off the 37th anniversary for the store and is the first of six premier Orlando running and walking races known as the “Track Shack Running Series.”
Participants from all fitness levels are invited to walk or run the 3.1-mile course located throughout the neighborhoods on the outskirts of downtown Orlando. Paid entrants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, a finisher’s medal, ice-cold refreshments, Florida Hospital’s interactive health screenings and special prizes awarded to significant finishers at the end of the race.
Registration is limited to 2,500 entrants.

The Orlando Sport and Social Club presents Splash N Dash on July 26th in Baldwin Park along the Lake Baldwin Trail.
Participants will experience SPLASH zones and DASH zones. They May encounter water gun snipers, balloon attacks, hose sprays and slip n slides.
You’ll also need to look out for your fellow runners. Runners are encouraged to bring their own water weapon of choice and use it to splash their friends or make new friends. Stick around for an after party you won’t forget with a huge water balloon fight.
